Waste Collection & Recycling Normal waste collections take place on Tuesday, and items for recycling are collected on Friday. In periods where there is a Bank Holiday, different arrangements apply. Click here for details that apply to forthcoming holiday periods. Missed collections may be reported to the Vale of White Horse District Council by phoning: 01235 520202.
Post There are two postboxes in the village. One is in Lower Woolstone opposite the end of The Lane. The other is in Upper Woolstone outside the White Horse Inn. Collection times are: Mon-Fri: 16:30, Sat: 10:15 (Upper Woolstone) & 10:30 (Lower Woolstone). There are no collections on Sundays or Bank Holidays.
Water Properties in the village are supplied with water from either or both of the following:
  • from the local spring, known as Woolstone Wells. Contact Jeremy Twynam: 01367 820222.
  • Thames Water - supply problems can be reported via their Customer Services Helpline: 0845 9200 800
Sewerage There is no mains drainage within the village. All properties will have either a sewage holding tank, requiring the occassional "pump-out", or a more active processing system such as a Klargester to treat the sewage prior to dispersal via the watercourse (and of course to ensure the stream is kept clean !)

Gas There is no supply of mains gas within the village

Bus Services The x47 Service from Swindon-Wantage stops in Woolstone, although the service runs only on Saturdays. Service 67 runs between Faringdon and Wantage via Uffington (but not Woolstone).
